Wanted: Volunteers for County Boards or Commissions

The Dickinson County Board of Supervisors is seeking qualified applicants for appointments to various boards and commissions. Vacancies occur on yearly cycles.
Gender balance on state-level boards and commissions has been required since 1987. As of July 1, 2009, state law requires political subdivisions (counties and cities) to make a good faith effort to balance appointive boards, commissions, committees and councils according to gender by January 1, 2012 and each year thereafter. Applicants must be eligible to vote in Dickinson County.

Brief descriptions of board responsibilities, terms for appointment and an official application form are on this web page and the County Boards and Commissions link on the home page and are available in the county Auditor's office. Applications are accepted year round. Most appointments for current vacancies are made in early January of each year. Beginning December 1, 2009, persons currently serving on boards and commissions who are up for re-appointment, will be asked to fill out an application.
