Present are Supervisors Chairperson David Gottsche,
Mardi Allen, Paul Johnson, Pam Jordan and Wayne Northey.
Sheriff
present. Moved by Allen, seconded by
Northey to approve the appointment of Stanton Westergard as part-time jailer in
the sheriff’s department at a salary of $11.70 per hour to be effective March
20, 2007. All voted aye.
Sheriff
also discussed with the board the possibility of allowing the transferring of
vacation and comp days from one employee to another employee to use. This will be discussed at a later date.
John
Torbert, Iowa Drainage District Association, executive director present with a
review of the agency’s activities for the past year. There was general discussion on the changing
agricultural scene and that impact to drainage.
Time for
the consideration for the approval of the Plat of McClelland’s Beach. Chairman
opened the public hearing. Zoning
Administrator Kohlhaase gave the board background information on the requirements
needing to be done from the preliminary plat approval granted. Mike Zenor, representing the Bartels family
and platters, and Jim Blum, engineer for the project, present with information
concerning number of lots and location.
There was public comment concerning the number of boat hoists that will
be allowed for the back lots. The Board
was given a letter from the Hamilton Law Firm, P.C., representing a substantial
number of the occupants of McClelland’s Beach who have objections to some of
the provisions of the plat, dedication, restrictive covenants and
agreement. The letter was referred to
the Board’s legal counsel, who was present at the meeting.
WHEREAS,
the Board of Supervisors of Dickinson County, Iowa, is a duly organized governing
body; and
WHEREAS,
there has been presented to the Board of Supervisors a request by Bartels,
Bartels and Fox to approve the Final Plat of McClelland’s Beach Plat, a plat
located in Dickinson County, Iowa; and
WHEREAS,
the Final Plat McClelland’s Beach Plat of Dickinson County, Iowa has been
presented to the Planning and Zoning Commission of Dickinson County, Iowa and
the Planning and Zoning Commission has recommended approval of the Final Plat
of McClelland’s Beach Plat, Dickinson County, Iowa, and
WHEREAS,
it is the desire of the Board of Supervisors to approve the aforementioned
plat;
NOW,
THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED THAT, upon presentation to the Board of
Supervisors, the Final Plat of McClelland’s Beach Plat,
PASSED,
APPROVED AND ADOPTED by the Dickinson County Board of Supervisors, on the 20th
day of March, 2007. All voted aye.
Public
hearing opened on order of the Chairperson for the final plat of Faye Meadows
subdivision. Zoning Administrator
Kohlhaase presented an over-view of the proposed subdivision. The board had discussions with the Sanitarian
concerning the availability of sanitary sewer to the area to be platted. There being no written or oral objections,
the Chairperson closed the public hearing.
Moved by Allen, seconded by Northey to approve and adopt the following
resolution: A RESOLUTION ADOPTING FINAL
PLAT OF FAYE MEADOWS SUBDIVISION-
WHEREAS,
there has been presented to the Board of Supervisors by the Planning and Zoning
Commission, a recommendation for approval of the final Plat of Faye meadows
Subdivision, Dickinson County, Iowa; and
WHEREAS.
It is the desire of the Board of Supervisors to approve the aforementioned
final plat.
NOW,
THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED that the final plat of Faye Meadows
Subdivision, be and the same is hereby approved as presented and the Chairman
and Dickinson County Auditor are directed to certify the Resolution which shall
be affixed to said plat.

AND APPROVED AND ADOPTED by the Board of Supervisors of Dickinson County, Iowa,
this 20th day of March, 2007.

being no further business presented before the Board, it was moved by Johnson,
seconded by Allen to adjourn. All voted
