Dickinson County Board Of Supervisors Workshop

January 10, 2007

Supervisors present: Paul Johnson, Pam Jordan and Mardi Allen

The Dickinson County Board of Supervisors conducted a workshop on the January 10, 2007 in the basement of the church property owned by Dickinson County.

Clark Reekers of Reeker’s Cleaning Service reviewed maintenance issues in the courthouse. The resolution of the January 2nd sewer backup and the replacement of the pressure value on boiler #2 were discussed.  Reekers also outlined how courthouse maintenance will be handled while he is on vacation.  Prior to leaving, Clark will supply budget numbers for FY’08 costs of his services, the costs of supplies and the costs of outside service agreements contracted by the County.

Pam, Paul & Mardi then reviewed a list of potential personnel, safety, and building policies.  Beth Will volunteered to draft a cell phone policy for the Board to consider.  Other policies will be discussed at the Department Head meeting Tuesday, January 16th.    The probability of using an outside firm to review the current handbook and to write other needed policies was discussed.  Pam volunteered to start working with Reekers on the building policies.

The meeting ended with a quick review of budget assignments and carryover numbers.  It was agreed that the Board needed a written schedule of due dates for the budgeting process.  Mardi volunteered to work with the Auditor to put one together.
