Dickinson County Board
Of Supervisors Workshop
March
7, 2007
The Dickinson County Board of Supervisors conducted a workshop on
March 7, 2007 at 1:30 P.M. in the basement of the church property owned by Dickinson County.
Supervisors present: Wayne Northey, Pam Jordan
and Mardi Allen
Clark Reekers of Reeker’s Cleaning Service reviewed maintenance
issues in the courthouse:
McHan is re-doing the
floor in the booking area. Clark is concerned with the sealer to be used. The Board needs to clarify the paper trail
needed with RDG and McHan so that McHan does not build the inset for the paper
towel holders in bathrooms 1503 and 1504.
The paper trail also needs to be done for the credit for the final clean
up of phase 2. Reekers will be certified
to do the pest control by July 1, 2007. To
improve the process, Clark will fill out claim
forms for maintenance items and give them to Pam for approval before they go to
the Auditor’s office.
Beth Will reviewed the outstanding Phase 1 construction
issues:
McHan suggested a change
in the lighting in the Jail area to improve the visibility for the Com Center. This will come as a change order. McHan is replacing all domes in the jail cell
cameras at no charge. McHan & RDG
are still researching the roof leak and the chimney flu issues. Reekers reported the broken fuel gauge on the
generator could have been broken when McHan’s subs were working in the
generator room or it might not be strong enough to stand the pressure when
filling the generator with fuel. Cummings
will be coming with a new gauge and an answer to the pressure question. Beth will turn in the repair costs for the
jail cell window to County insurance.
On 3-6-07, Beth noticed two first floor hallway lights out again after
all ballasts had been replaced. Beth
& the electrician saw both a north & a south hallway light out but upon
returning from the basement noticed only the south side light was out. Beth is to replace the light bulb and record
date and time. Courtroom locks are not
reversed yet but the clerk’s door is fixed.
Mardi went over the FY’08 budget presentation with Wayne &
Pam. Then Beth, Wayne, Pam & Mardi
discussed personnel & safety policies.
They discussed the County providing one binder containing HIPAA,
Personnel, Safety, & Building policies. This binder could then be given to
all new personnel as they fill out papers at the Auditor’s office. The method of notifying the HIPAA officer of
new personnel needs to be determined. Beth
reviewed the comments made by the IMWCA representative regarding a return to
work policy, job descriptions for every employee, combined County employee
safety committee, & the appointment of an in-depth incident review
committee. Beth said the IMWCA
representative also asked the County to fax all accident reports directly to
their office.
