Dickinson County Board of Supervisors

Present are Supervisors Mardi Allen, Paul Johnson, Pam Jordan, Wayne Northey, and Chairperson David Gottsche.

 

      Moved by Northey, seconded by Allen to approve the Class C Liquor License and outdoor service area renewal application of Okoboji Barz, Inc., dba Barefoot Bar.  All voted aye.

 

      County Engineer present.  Moved by Allen, seconded by Johnson to approve the contract in the amount of $193,735.16 with Cohrs Construction Inc., for Project L-FM-549, also known as the Hummel road grading project, and in addition the project will require a road closure and off-site detour to construct.  All voted aye.

 

      Moved by Northey, seconded by Allen to approve the recommendation for United Suppliers of Spencer, Iowa, as low bidder for 250 gallons of Hi-Dep weed eradication chemical in the amount of $3875.00, subject to DNR’s response/approval as to the impact on breeding pheasants.  All voted aye.

 

      Moved by Jordan, seconded by Allen to approve the following utility permits for Iowa Lakes Electric Cooperative:

1.           Construct 2 poles and 5 anchors on 220th Street, approximately 3300 feet west of 230th Avenue, for a single-phase overhead line into the Dickinson County Recycling Facility in Milford Township

2.           Construct two single-phase overhead crossings on 260th Street beginning at the SE corner of the intersection of 180th Avenue westerly 4000 feet to 1721 260th Street in Okoboji Township.

3.           Construct underground three phase power lines on 180th Avenue between 220th Street and 260th Street in Okoboji Township.  All voted aye.

 

      Moved by Allen, seconded by Northey to approve an 8-inch water line on 10-th Street (A31), this will include boring under Upper Gar Lake on the south side.  The project will be done in conjunction with the Triggs/Hinshaw Bridge replacement project this fall.  All voted aye.

 

      Discussion and review of the telephone RFB.  Moved by Jordan, seconded by Johnson to approve the Courthouse Telephone System Request for Bids, to adopt the timeline presented and to set a public hearing the RFB for April 19, 2005 at 9:30 A.M. in the Supervisors Board Room.  All voted aye.

 

      Non-actionables were discussed including the landowner drainage meeting held in Terril.
