Dickinson County Board of Supervisors

Present are Supervisors Mardi Allen, Paul Johnson, Pam Jordan, Wayne Northey, and Chairperson David Gottsche.

 

Moved by Jordan, seconded by Northey to approve change order No. 4, Doc. G-701-2001 of the courthouse project.  All voted aye.

 

Moved by Northey, seconded by Johnson to approve change order Doc. G-714-2001 of the courthouse project.  All voted aye.

 

County Engineer present.  Tim Moran, NRCS, present with a request for a wetland restoration in Drainage District No. 24 approval.  The wetland to be restored is in Section 10, SE ¼ of Superior Township, five miles north of Superior.  Approval of the request is continued to March 1, 2005’s meeting.

 

Moved by Allen, seconded by Northey to approve the plans for Project Number L-FM-549, also known as the 160th Street, 270th Avenue grading project.  The project letting will be set for March 22, at 10:30 A.M. in the Board of Supervisors Room.  All voted aye.

 

Time for the consideration of the rezoning request of BBR, L.L.C. & Thomas L. Nielsen, P.O.A. from R-4 Lakeshore Residential and A-1 Agricultural District to RE resort Enterprise District, SW of SW Section 21-99-36 and Govt Lot 1 Section 20-99-36 except four tracts.  The proposed project would consist of private ownership condominiums along with some single-family houses and an indoor water park that would be open to the public.  Several in attendance expressed concern with the project and infrastructure needed.  With the rezoning approximately 1050 units could be built, however the developer of the proposed project indicated that they were not proposing near that number.  Supervisor Allen requested that the developer prepare an exact statement with the number of unites that would be included in the project and an environment impact statement.  She also requests that the developers get letters from the various utilities that have given oral approval as to their ability to serve the proposed development for confirmation.  Moved by Allen, seconded by Jordan to continue the public hearing to March 15, 2005 at 10:00 A.M. Roll Call:  Northey-nay; Johnson-nay; Allen-aye; Gottsche-aye; Jordan-aye.  Motion carried.

 

Board continued to meet with departments on budget preparation for FY’06 county budget.
